Our Team

An important aspect of your child's success is how we approach educating them in the arts which starts with our selection of staff.  At Showtime, we have a core team of teachers that are not only experienced dancers but are also experienced or trained educators.  Three decades of experience has shown that often a performer turned educator works well with advanced students but rarely provides younger less experienced students a good foundation.   The educational background of our core staff helps them make learning FUN while allowing all of the student's attending Showtime to excel using their individual gifts and talents.

You might ask what about the more advanced students - to meet their needs we augment our core staff with specialists, focused more on their performance experience, that give the more advanced students the chance to soar learning techniques and concepts from people that either have or are working in the related field.

Key Factors

There are many important factors for any parent who is entrusting their child's education and future to an organization.  We at Showtime as parents, educators, and performers want to note some of the programs we put in place to ensure that your child not only builds confidence but also has an awesome experience with memories that last a life-time.

  • Multiple Performance Opportunties - Performance opportunities are one of the best ways to build confidence.  Many studios have a pay to participate recital and/or a select performance group that performs at local events.  SDCA has both of these opportunities but also feels it is important for all the students to get to show their stuff in order to build confidence.  To that end, we have a Christmas Showcase at Teague Middle School in which all our student's get to perform at no per student charge.  In addition, new this year, we plan to allow all current students to participate in a holiday parade for the cost of a t-shirt.
  • School First - For our students that are with us for multiple classes, sometimes with a break between, we provide a study room for them to work on homework.  School is a top priority so we do what we can to provide an environment to ensure their success.  WIFI is also provided for students with laptops.
  • Customized Opportunities - Too often in studios we see a one size fits all - for example, studios pushing all their students to join their competitve company or not providing levels to company to accomodate less experienced students.  At Showtime, we have a variety of programs some designed for the casual just for fun dancer through those developed for students wanting  to compete and/or eventually make a career in the entertainment industry.  We believe it is important to adapt each program to the currently enrolled student's needs.   Helping them succeed at a much faster pace and allowing them to have fun while learning.
  • Routine Maintenance - Each summer and most Christmas seasons we do routine maintenance around the studio.  Upgrading equipment, refinishing floors, painting, etc...  We believe it is important to ensure that on-going maintenance is done not only to ensure the safety of the students but also to increase the opportunties.  This year in addition to our normal maintenance we have upgraded sound equipment and put in a music rehearsal room for our aspiring young musicians.
